Tetracore’s expertise in gas distribution and power generation is now positioning it as a key driver of the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) market, aligning with Nigeria's ambitions to monetize its vast natural gas resources.
In mid-2024, it commissioned a state-of-the-art CNG facility in Ogun State, with an initial capacity of 3.1 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscf/d), expandable to 6.2 MMscf/d. This facility is strategically located to enhance gas availability along Nigeria's Western-Southern corridor, home to some of the country's largest industrial clusters.
As part of Tetracore's gas utilization initiative and support to the expansion of Nigeria’s CNG supply-chain, Tetracore has introduced state-of-the-art Mobile Refilling Units strategically positioned nationwide. The Mobile Refilling Units have the capacity to supply 400,000 standard cubic meters (SCM) and can support Nigerian industries, with a supply deal signed with Dangote Cement at the start of 2025 for instance. This innovative solution ensures accessibility and reliability, providing seamless support for Auto CNG users in logistics and transportation operations.
In addition to CNG, Tetracore is developing on the same site a modular Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) facility with a planned capacity of 10 MMscf/d. This project aims to diversify the company's energy offerings and contribute to Nigeria's energy independence by providing an environmentally friendly energy source for various applications, including transportation and power generation.
Looking ahead, Tetracore aims to double its CNG facility capacity and expand its reach across the African continent, including Ghana and Equatorial Guinea. The company's focus on sustainability and innovation, coupled with its strategic investments in gas infrastructure, positions it well to play a crucial role in Nigeria's energy transition and the broader African energy market. As Tetracore expands, it remains focused on its goal of becoming a leading energy solutions provider in Africa.
