Elektron Energy is actively expanding its portfolio of embedded and distributed generation, proving its capacity to structure innovative energy infrastructure projects in emerging markets. Its current pipeline emphasizes bankability through strategic off-taker partnerships:
● Victoria Island Power Limited (30MW): Victoria Island Embedded Power Generation plant is a 30MW embedded power generation project under construction in the heart of Victoria Island. Scheduled for completion in Q4 2026, it will provide consistent, affordable energy within Nigeria's foremost commercial district, replacing over 3,000 diesel generators and significantly reducing carbon emissions
● Task Force Road IPP (10.6MW): This is Elektron's pioneering 10.6MW gas-fired power plant, paired with a 15km distribution network. Commissioned in 2013, it provides reliable energy to the Lagos State Government Secretariat, effectively powering the administration of the 6th largest economy in Africa. Plans are underway to expand the plant's capacity to 30MW incorporating solar energy for enhanced sustainability.
● Ibadan Hybrid Power Limited (11MW): Ibadan Hybrid power plants is an 11MW hybrid plant integrating gas, solar, and battery storage to provide uninterrupted power to Oyo State’s critical infrastructure. With 113,341 tons of CO2 savings annually, the project replaces over 100 diesel generators and powers 80 kilometers of streetlights fostering economic growth.
● The Rack Centre IPP (9MW): is a 9MW gas-fired IPP providing energy to Africa's first Tier III Constructed Facility Certified data center. Located in Oregun, Lagos, it replaced several diesel generators, reducing CO2 emissions by 83.9 million metric tons annually. Phase 2 will expand the capacity by 20MW incorporating renewable sources like solar and waste-to-energy to further reduce emissions and enhance sustainability.
Strategic Expansion and Greenfield Pipeline
Elektron is advancing a multi-pronged development pipeline alongside distribution monopolies and global energy majors to ensure long-term revenue security and grid stability. Some of these include:
● 50MW Sandgrouse IPP (Ikoyi): A power development executed in partnership with Axxela and Eko Distribution Company (EKEDC).
● 50MW Lekki IPP: A power collaboration with Shell Nigeria and EKEDC, directly targeting a chronic demand shortfall in Nigeria's foremost commercial hub.
● 20MW Tokarawa Hybrid Plant (Kano): A thermal-solar hybrid dedicated to improving network reliability for industrial and commercial users in Northern Nigeria.
