Established in 1974, with operations commencing in 1979, Cakasa has grown alongside Nigeria's oil and gas industry. The company has developed expertise in constructing various types of tanks, including crude, product, cryogenic, and gas tanks, as well as gas spheres and mounded bullets. Its services extend to heavy-duty piping for crude and swamp pipelines, terminal construction for storage and offloading of crude, and processing facilities for both crude oil and gas.
In the gas infrastructure sector, Cakasa has established a strong presence, particularly in Nigeria. The company has completed numerous significant projects (over 30) that showcase its expertise in LPG storage solutions. Notable among these are the Stockgap Port Harcourt project, which involved the construction of four 8,180m³ capacity sphere tanks for butane and propane storage, and the RainOil project in Lagos, featuring 16,300m³ LPG spherical tanks. Other major projects include the 10,000m³ LPG spherical tank for Dozzy in Calabar, 16,300m³ LPG spherical tanks for TechnoOil in Lagos, and a future 10,000m³ LPG sphere tank for Falcon Corporation (90% complete as of today).
Cakasa's portfolio also demonstrates its versatility in handling various tank sizes and configurations. The company has successfully delivered projects ranging from large spherical tanks to smaller bullet tanks, such as the 2 x 630m³ bullet tanks for Stockgap in Port Harcourt and the 3 x 930m³ bullet tanks in Ikenne, Ogun State. This diverse project experience underscores Cakasa's ability to meet the varied needs of Nigeria's expanding gas sector.
