GasInvest

Shaping Nigeria’s gas future through strategy, design, and delivery

As Africa's gas narrative shifts from potential to implementation, GasInvest has emerged as a strategic enabler of the country’s gas industrialisation journey. Founded in 2015, the company bridges the gap between policy, project structuring, and market delivery by offering deep domain expertise in gas consulting, infrastructure development, and investment facilitation. With a sharp focus on monetising gas for power, industry, and clean energy access, GasInvest is helping governments and private sector stakeholders build viable gas ventures from the ground up.

Company History and Expertise

GasInvest was established to respond to the growing demand for investment and structure in Nigeria’s rapidly evolving gas and power sectors. Founded by Dr. David Ige, former Group Executive Director for Gas & Power at NNPC and architect of Nigeria’s Gas Masterplan, and with a leadership team that comprises very experienced gas sector experts who have played leading roles in the Nigerian energy sector, the company blends high-level policy experience with on-the-ground execution capabilities. GasInvest operates across multiple service lines including consultancy, project development, investment brokerage, outsourcing and energy research services.

It supports upstream companies seeking to commercialise gas, midstream-downstream players looking for smart access to supply, and investors aiming to build bankable, scalable gas projects. GasInvest’s team has led feasibility and structuring for major initiatives like mini-LNG plants, industrial parks, LPG distribution networks, and it is supporting cross-border gas flows, including the sourcing of nearly 1 Bcf/d of gas from Nigeria to Equatorial Guinea for the EGLNG Plant.

Beyond advisory, GasInvest provides tailored technical support in gas asset management from equipment procurement and metering infrastructure to plant installation and pipeline works. It also offers outsourced back-office services for gas contract management and administration; and delivers energy research that helps clients interpret market trends, assess risks, and make informed investment decisions.

Strategic Interventions and Market Development

GasInvest continues to drive gas infrastructure projects through strategic advisory, project structuring, and multi-stakeholder coordination. It has delivered gas master plans and infrastructure blueprints for Lagos, and Oyo States, helping shape their energy investment strategies and implementation roadmaps. GasInvest has also supported clients in South Africa, Equatorial Guinea, as well as National and International Oil companies. The company has led feasibility and development work for LNG terminals, gas-based industrial parks including the Kwale Industrial Park in Delta State.

GasInvest is part of and works with a wider group comprising sister companies that are active in various segments of the gas value chain. These include GasHub Limited – a gas aggregation, marketing and distribution company; Oke-Ogun Gas Limited – a regional LPG storage, distribution and retailing company. GasInvest is currently the lead promoter / developer of Riverside LNG Limited – a fully integrated 1.2 - 1.6 MTPA LNG plant including an Export Terminal, targeting domestic and export markets.

Looking ahead, GasInvest is scaling its advisory and development work to support Nigeria’s Decade of Gas priorities. It is expanding its portfolio of midstream initiatives and supporting regional integration by advising on cross-border gas trade, LNG export structuring, and interconnection projects that align with Africa’s evolving energy landscape. As part of its strategic roadmap, the company is exploring opportunities to extend its project development and advisory model into other African gas markets—especially in regions undergoing regulatory reform or seeking to build gas-based economies.
